@ To build the lake you fit the 4 long ('folded') lake border tiles together to form a frame.
The whole board is ca. 70x80cm!
The 6 lake tiles you place random. So each game the islands are spread different over the lake.
@ The 5 red buoys and the Start/Finish tile build a race course.
@ The 18 unique dice have only 3 sides, to roll a #1, #2 or #3.
@ The 6 speedboats have 6 player colors.
@ The boat counters mark the scores during a game over several heats/courses.
@ The orange damage counters you receive when you crash on land.
On this rulebook front page you see the Powerboats content.
@ In this frame you fit the 6 lake tiles.
The board has 2 sides. Experienced speedboat racers can try the more dangerous lake on the backside.
Marked spots on the board provide more than 103680 random race courses.
You can build courses yourself too.
More speedboat racers can join, but they must bring their own boat. :)
Brake your speed in time !!!!!
GAME SITUATION
Here you see the 70x80cm gameboard. (This is a computer picture.)

The speedboat samples. Oops, a wrong color ... I think Chinees like that bright orange. :)
In the published game is a 'normal' orange boat.

PLAY A 2-PLAYERS VERSION OF *POWERBOATS* ON MASTERMOVES.EU
You can play in the Daily Tournament, to qualify for the Weekly, Monthly and ultimately the Yearly Tournament.
Or reach the top of the Piramid of players (though you start in level 14 from the top now).
Or join the leagues competition. 112 speedboat pilots in Competition now. I am the defending champion. :)
The computer version is not the same as the boardgame.
The boardgame is for 2-6 players, especially made to fit good for more players.
The computer version is smaller. And it is without the boardgame graphics.
The courses are built different, start and finish works a bit different.
In the boardgame you get race points during 3 races (3 courses). Each race takes ca. 20 minutes.
On computer each game is 1 race, though you can play in big tournaments.
The gaming site is turn-based, so you can spread your turns over several days.
But boardgame and computer version are both cool !!! :)
FIRST PHOTOS
First photo. :) Everything fits good! For the photo I did 10 turns with 6 boats.

Purple made a mistake before taking this picture and now is far behind.

Did you know ... that the Powerboats game has its origins in a ski-race prototype game I made many years ago.
Though the rules now have no overlap anymore with that game (that was a cardgame).
Starting the Mastermoves.eu gaming site inspired me to work more on the race game ideas.
In the speedboats game I'm attracted by the combi of the accelerating/braking rules and the path-search on a map (the hex grid with islands).
Finally all things fell together.
Jodelahiti!
